Ways EKU is Helping Students during the Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented new challenges for everyone, and especially students – different ways of learning, health concerns, financial struggles, and just missing out on social opportunities. We feel your pain. This is an incredibly difficult time. Here at EKU, we’re committed to providing a high-quality and affordable education to all students, regardless of the obstacles. Here are just a few of the ways we’re prioritizing student success, even in the midst of a pandemic.
Flexible Learning Options
We continue to take every possible measure to ensure our campus remains open and students can engage in an on-campus learning experience. In addition to the option of living and learning on campus, we understand remote learning may better fit the needs of many students. We’ve made more classes available online and increased our fully online programs. Choose the learning style best for you!
A Focus on Student Health
We’re keeping campus clean and sanitized and encouraging all members of the campus community to practice responsible behavior, including social distancing, mask wearing and frequent hand washing. While measures for maintaining physical health remain important, we also recognize the pandemic’s effect on mental health. Our on-campus Counseling Center provides services at no cost to students and now offers after-hours support.
The EKU Advantage
The effects of the pandemic have caused unavoidable financial strain for many families. As the School of Opportunity, EKU understands these challenges but also recognizes the importance and impact of higher education – especially in times like these. In an effort to help students find a clear and affordable path to a degree, we’ve launched the EKU Advantage, a toolbox of incentives and initiatives designed to help students with educational attainment. Below are just some of the benefits of the EKU Advantage:
No application fee – test scores optional
New scholarships based on high school GPA only
EKU BookSmart, providing free textbooks for undergraduate students
